Brother Cain, "Wishpool"
Virgin Records, released: 1998
This is the worst stuff I've ever heard in my life. I can't remember ever hearing anything that has left me so hollow and empty inside. This is music by the numbers by people who have only marginal things to say. A&R scouts must have gleaned then from what ever was left at the bottom of the post-grunge barrel. The vocals are copped right off of the 'Sound Garden How To Guide'. The production pretties up the music to near complete collapse. The lyric content of the songs is horrifically vague. But the music is so devoid of melody that there is absolutely nothing to remember about this music once it is over. It is a scary combination of things that are all so current and lifted that it was most likely created in a laboratory of Alterna-Grunge by scientist trying to mediocre us out of our minds.
I'm not sure what it means but almost every song on this record uses either the word 'Lie' or 'Soul'.
